Giant Fish Wall Hanging

A large, striking wall hanging measuring 180cms x 57cms, this may be hung vertically, using a simple loop, or horizontally on two hooks using a pole (not included) which runs through the three tabs sewn to the back plus the simple loop on the tail.
 It is made from merino wool in many shades of black, grey, blue, white, cream, gold and brown. The head and all the scales are covered with silk and bamboo fibres, dyed in colours to match the wools, and the fins and tail are made from pure silk fabric, incorporated using the nuno felting principle.
  (Nuno felting is a magical procedure whereby wool fibres migrate through the fabric in the felting process, then lock into it and, during the last fulling part of felting where the hanging is vigorously thrown and rubbed, the fabric shrinks with the wool giving the lovely puckered texture typical of nuno.)
  Felt items will seldom need washing as wool is so resistant to most dirt but if it needs a wash it should be gently hand-washed in cool water and dried flat. It may also be ironed on a cool, silk setting.
